Rafting the Rio Pacuare

Todd and I took two whitewater rafting trips on our honeymoon: the Reventazon and the Pacuare. We did the Reventazon within the first few days of arriving in Costa Rica and the Pacuare just before we left. Compared with the Reventazon, the Pacuare was a walk in the park. We never paddled more than 4 strokes at a time and we really got to enjoy the surroundings. The coolest thing we saw? Toucans. They were pretty far away, but close enough for us to see the colors on their beaks.
The only thing unpleasant about the paddle was the weather...it was cooler that day and the river was cold; that made getting splashed unenjoyable. Also, the woman who sat behind me had ZERO paddling experience and kept hitting my paddle with hers (infuriating).

Below are some pics of the adventure.

The happy couple
In the back of the boat is our guide - posing for the camera. Behind me is the chick who did not know how to paddle.
Our guide decided to take a dip in the cold water. Yeah, that's him swimming after his paddle (not alarming at all).

Toucans! So cool!

Hey, and I would be the woman who doesn't know how to paddle. Yup, that'd be me if I were there!

Not to be the annoying fact-checker, but wouldn't this have been just your second whitewater rafting experience ever? Although, technically, I guess you had twice the experience of that annoying woman behind you. :)

Yay! So glad your technical difficulties are resolved. I LOVE the pictures and stories you post from your honeymoon. :)
