Earlier that day I was scared out of the water by a needle fish. I had just started snorkeling when I noticed (what I thought was) a barracuda-looking fish nearby. I surfaced to ask Todd about it. At that time he said he didn't know what kind of fish it was, but that he had seen them before and that they appeared to follow him as he swam. I was immediately freaked: a barracuda-like fish following me? I returned to the water, but in my freaked-out mode I swam in a circle to determine whether I was being followed. Sure enough, Mr. barracuda-looking fish and HIS FRIEND were now following me. I was on the beach in seconds. Now, thanks to the internet, I realize that needle fish and barracuda really don't look alike. Below are pictures of both.

Ha ha ha ha! I used to think needle fish were barracuda, too! See what happens when you put a Minnesota girl on a reef?!
So funny! I can just see freaked-out, snorkeling Anna, swimming in circles.
By the way, when I first opened this page, the first thing I said was, "Ooh! It's Dory!" I can't believe you got to swim with her. Was she as forgetful in person? Or, in fish?
